Officials are seeking the public’s assistance in locating an 87-year-old man with the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease who disappeared Tuesday morning after heading to northern Arizona, Phoenix police said.
Frederick Heil was last seen leaving his home in the 3100 block of North 36th Avenue around 6 a.m. Tuesday, Phoenix police said.
Police said Heil was heading toward Rimrock, located off of Interstate 17 and about a 1½- hour drive north of Phoenix, to visit family and friends.
Heil is 5 feet 10 inches and weighs 200 pounds, with blue eyes and gray hair.
Police believe he may be driving his white 1997 Toyota Camry with Arizona license plate FHJ98.
It was unclear what Heil was last seen wearing.
Heil’s family told police he might appear to be confused when approached and that he is in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease.
Anyone with information on Heil’s whereabouts is urged to contact Phoenix police.
